Cell Lysing Reagent

Cell Lysing Reagent

512 SEK

10 mL reagent for extraction of ATP from mammalian cells.

Cell Lysing Reagent is intended for the extraction of ATP from mammalian cells. It contains a milder detergent than Extractant B/S and will not affect bacterial cells. If Cell Lysing Reagent is reconstituted in 71-101 ATP Eliminating Reagent extracellular ATP will be eliminated as well, for cases when only bacterial ATP is of interest.

Extractant B/S 10 mL

Extractant B/S 10 mL

342 SEK

10 mL reagent for extraction of ATP from bacterial and mammalian cells.

Extractant B/S is used for the extraction of ATP from bacterial and mammalian cells. It is a strong extractant and is suitable for use with all bacterial cells and most types of other cells. It rapidly neutralizes all ATPases. To avoid degradation of luciferases the ATP Reagent should be reconstituted in Diluent B to neutralize the extractant.

Extractant BS 100 mL

Extractant B/S 100 mL

100 mL reagent for extraction of ATP from bacterial and mammalian cells.

6.7 mL reagent for extraction of ATP from bacterial and mammalian cells.

Lysing Diluent 12 mL

Lysing Diluent

230 SEK

12 mL reagent for releasing of ATP from mammalian cells.

Lysing Diluent is used to release ATP from mammalian cells. It contains an ATPase inhibitor, to avoid degradation of the extracellular ATP after the cells have been opened.

A crucial step in the ATP assay is the extraction of the ATP from the cells, when the cells are opened and the ATPases in the cell neutralized. The process has to be very fast, since if the ATPases are not neutralized immediately they will start degrading the ATP.

If the extractant is not neutralized after use it will degrade the luciferase in the ATP reagents when added. This is avoided by reconstituting the ATP Reagents in Diluent B as the diluent contains components to neutralize the extractant. BioThema currently offer these five extractants:
